UPDATE: Via NYT campus will be closed over the weekend.
Rita Cavin, the interim president of Umpqua Community College, issued a brief statement Thursday. “We are still sorting through, trying to reunify students with their families,” she said. “Tomorrow the college will be closed. This weekend the college will be closed for all student activities.”

UPDATE (Matt): President Obama to address the tragedy soon.
UPDATE (Matt): A law enforcement official told CNN that four guns that seem to have belonged to the shooter were recovered at the scene.
"Investigators are also looking at social media postings they believe the shooter made, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN. The night before the attack, the shooter appears to have had a conversation with others online about his intentions, that source said."
Dr. Hans Notenboom of CNN added that PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, which is about 70 miles north of the college, received three victims. Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, where Umpqua Community College is located, received nine victims, with two more en route.
In a press conference, Dr. Hans NotenBoom of PeaceHealth did not give any details on the condition of the victims. He said that the hospital deployed additional resources to take care of the wounded, along with outside resources to accommodate the families. All three patients at PeaceHealth were flown in, and he can’t say if any more patients would be arriving at the hospital, though he said that’s subject to change.
Fox News’ Shepard Smith said that blood donations are needed.
UPDATE (Matt): President Obama has been briefed, according to Reuters. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said,“sensible steps that can be taken to protect our communities from gun violence continues to be a top priority of this administration.” Gov. Kate Brown added, "My thoughts are with the families and victims of today’s tragedy."

David Jaques of the Roseburg Beacon, a local newspaper, told Fox News's Shepard Smith that the shooting first broke out at the campus's science building. A SWAT team is now on campus.

Update: The Oregon Attorney General says 13 are now confirmed dead, reports Fox News.
At a press conference in Roseburg, Douglas County Sheriff John Hamlin said the shooter was "deceased." He was killed after engaging the police, according to Fox.
At a separate presser, Oregon Governor Kate Brown said the dead shooter is a 20-year-old male.
