Ravens Coach ‘Goes Trump,’ Tells Government to Build a Wall at the Border

Only Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh could link a football controversy to Washington bureaucracy. In a post-practice press conference Friday, Harbaugh addressed a brewing dispute between referees and the NFL union and couldn’t help comparing their hardheadedness to Washington politics.

“Like a government, too. Maybe talk to one another, solve a problem once in a while instead of creating a problem. Be more concerned about the country than you are your party. How about we do that?” Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh wasn’t quite done yet, proceeding to weigh in on specific issues like immigration.

"I’m going Trump here. Build a wall; it’s not that hard. If you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country. You're not a country without a border, right? At the same time, we’ve got 12 to 15 million hard-working people here. Give them a shot! Give them a chance to become a citizen so they're paying taxes.

"All of us know that it’s not that complicated. But this side doesn’t want to solve it and neither does this side. Neither one of them wants to solve the problem. Solve the problem! It'd be done that fast.”

The coach realized he was making so much sense that he suggested he may take a break from the football field and run for the White House.

Harbaugh’s brother and fellow coach, Jim, has also occasionally waded into politics. When universities were censoring screenings of "American Sniper" in April, the University of Michigan coach tweeted that he was more than ready to show the patriotic film to his team – political correctness be damned.

Although he did walk back his comments back a bit, feeling the need to meet with Muslim students who supposedly felt offended by them, his initial post was a bold and important one.

Harbaugh/Harbaugh 2016. What do you think?
