DWS is Still on a Pro-Abortion Rant

DWS is Still on a Pro-Abortion Rant

Instead of dialing back her radical views as some have suggested, Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has again demonstrated how unrepresentative she is of women in America when it comes to the issue of life. Her extreme agenda was made manifest during a back and forth she had with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) earlier this month about late-term abortion. Paul, fed up with the media's "gotcha" questions on the issue, challenged them to ask the DNC if it is 'okay to kill a seven-pound baby in the uterus?' Schultz responded by ignoring the unborn baby's rights and venting about the sacredness of women's decisions with their doctors.

Polls have consistently shown that women in America reject the radical procedure of late-term abortion, and therefore reject Schultz's indifference. In a Quinnipiac survey conducted last year, 60 percent of respondents said they agree with the 20-week abortion ban, which forbids abortions after the point at which unborn babies can feel pain.

These numbers don't seem to affect Schultz in the least, as another important piece of legislation has exposed the DNC chair's radical beliefs. Florida just passed a bill requiring women to wait 24 hours before going through with an abortion. The delay gives these mothers a chance to think over their decision and consider whether or not they are truly ending a life. More details from the Sun Sentinel:

It would require women to visit an abortion provider in person to receive an ultrasound and information about abortions. Then, women would have to wait at least 24 hours before returning to undergo the procedure. Exceptions would be granted for people who can prove they are victims of rape, incest, domestic violence or human trafficking.

You can see why the legislation passed overwhelmingly

Yet, the DNC's Schultz is oblivious to the bill's lifesaving benefits. On Monday, she decried the legislation as little more than another opportunity for Republicans to roll back women's rights.

"This measure is medically unnecessary and morally reprehensible," she said. "It is just another strike in the constant attack on women's reproductive health, not just in Florida, but all across this country."

Schultz can't see past her own selfish feminist agenda. Twenty-four hours can mean life or death for a child and it can prevent women from dealing with a lifetime of regret. That one day can be a blessing for both mother and child.

Thankfully for them, and unfortunately for DWS, pro-life Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) is expected to sign this important bill.
