'He Will Not Step Down': Roy Moore's Wife Speaks in Defense of Her Husband

Speaking at a Women for Moore rally in Montgomery, Kayla Moore, wife of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, said that her husband "Will not step down" and will remain in the race until next month's election. Mrs. Moore was the final speaker after six others spoke of Roy Moore's praises.

Mrs. Moore did not hold back in defense of her husband, who she characterized as a pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-traditional marriage, and pro-God. She spoke of her husband's service to the United States in the military, and called him a "loving father and a grandfather, most important(ly) he is a Christian."

In contrast, said Mrs. Moore, Democrat Doug Jones is "against everything we and Alabama believe and stand for," including transgender rights, abortion, and gun control.

In addition to defending her husband, Mrs. Moore went on attack on the media and slammed the Washington Post for their reporting.

"The Washington Post has called everybody that I have ever known for the last 40 years. They have called everybody my my husband has known over the last 40 years," said Mrs. Moore.

Mrs. Moore said that the Trump administration ought to be thanking her husband for distracting the media from the Russia investigation, and she said that Trump should seize this opportunity to pass things in Congress. Trump has said that if the allegations against Judge Moore are true, he should step aside.
