What Real Political Racism Looks Like

Warning: Offensive images below:

Now that a leading African American politician, an MSM publication and the lefty opinion press (here, too) have alleged that racism underlies Republican opposition to Susan Rice (apparently "incompetent" has become a racial code word!), perhaps it's time for a little primer on what actual political racism really looks like.  When anyone can point out similar racist ugliness coming spewed at Ambassador Susan Rice from analogous sources on the right, THEN there's an issue.  'Til then, I think Democrats and their media allies owe the GOP an apology and a little respectful silence.

Here is the google images search result for "Susan Rice cartoons."

Now, note the contrast.  Regrettably (because the images are hateful!), it's time for an ugly but necessary walk down left-wing racism memory lane:

Here is a cartoon of Condoleezza Rice, from the most widely syndicated cartoonist in the world:

(Note the offensive racial caricature):

OK.  Here's another, perhaps the most offensive to Dr. Rice:

The one above is from cartoonist Jeff Danziger, of the Los Angeles Times syndicate.

Trust me, there is plenty more where this came from, including a charmer from Gerry Trudeau in which Dr. Rice is called "Brown Sugar."  Just google images for Condoleezza Rice, and you'll get an eyeful.

We are all familiar with similarly racist images of Justice Clarence Thomas.  Here's an offering from Don Wright of the Palm Beach Post:

And, of course, the well-known cover from Emerge magazine, a self-proclaimed "publication of substance" and identified in the archives of Columbia University's journalism school as an "African-American news and politics monthly."

And from emerge, again:

These images are ugly.  They are offensive.  I dislike posting them.  But they are a salutary reminder of what real political racism looks like. And regrettably, there is plenty more where they came from.
