Biden WRONG on Impact of HHS Regulations

Facebook is a wonderful thing.  Although I am not Catholic, I am a great admirer of Archibishop Charles Chaput, who accepted my Facebook "friend" request.  Today, he had posted this message:

During the Vice-Presidential Debate, Vice-President Biden said "With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear. No religious institution—Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital—none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact."

That is NOT a fact. The USCCB put out a statement yesterday that has the truth. (Emphasis added)

In short, like his remarks about Benghazi and tax cuts, Biden had the facts completely wrong.  Here is the statement to which Archbishop Chaput referred. During the vice presidential debates, it would have been well if Martha Raddatz had taken a moment to pursue the impact of these regulations on the rights of religious conscience this county has cherished since its founding.

Instead, she wasted time on silly questions like whether the candidates were "embarrassed" by the negative "tone" of the debate.  Did anything about Joe Biden's behavior suggest that he any capacity whatsoever to be "embarrassed" by any lack of decorum or civility?

Nor, given his misstatement as pointed out by Archbishop Chaput above, is he embarrassed about either being ignorant of or else wilfully prevaricating about the impact of the ObamaCare HHS regulations on religious freedom.
