With the downfall of ACORN, there's a need for some new lefty shock troops -- hence the new (pretentiously named) Organizing for America "Summer Organizing Fellowship." (HT: The LA Times' consistently interesting Andrew Malcolm). The end goal is for participants ("fellows"?!) to station themselves around the country to "organize" in support of the Obama agenda.

In other words, they're political shock troops preparing for 2012 -- part of the fellowship's stated goal is to "put boots on the ground" and "build a movement behind a cause" (presumably the re-election of The One).
Tongue in cheek, I'm just hoping that this isn't intended to be the "civilian national security force" that Obama referenced in the campaign.
