The Politics of Bravado

Some time ago, I noted that it was poor strategy for the President to taunt the majority of Americans ("go for it") who opposed the passage of his health care plan.

In the same vein, the President, Democrats and the MSM have repeatedly insulted and attempted to marginalize the Tea Party movement as a bunch of racist wackos (here, here and here -- just for a few examples).

Now it turns out that 41% of the supposed crazy racist Tea Partiers are Democrats or independents -- and thus, in all likelihood, were once Obama supporters.  That's right, almost one of two.  That should send a chill through Democrats'  blood, thinking about the upcoming elections.

Sure makes all the taunting and name-calling look smart now, right?  Well . . . not so much.  Lots of those people the President and others have been maligning turn out to be his former supporters -- who've just learned a valuable lesson about the validity of the charges of racism that routinely emanate from the left.
