Happy Thanksgiving!

There is so much for which to be thankful this Thanksgiving Day! God, our families and our freedom, just for starters -- along with what seems like a renewed and growing understanding throughout the country about how important it is to safeguard all we hold dear.

I have long thought that Thanksgiving is the most distinctly American holiday of all. It combines our nation's historic devotion to God (as demonstrated through the Thanksgiving proclamations of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln) with a historic reminder of the centrality of economic and political freedom to the vitality and success of this wonderful country. Together, those intertwined factors explain just about everything about Ameria's greatness.
