Offending the Brits?

Barack Obama has returned a famous bust of Winston Churchill to England -- even though British officials offered to let him keep it. The bust had pride of place in President Bush's Oval Office.

One has to wonder about why Obama would make a point of returning it. What would have been the harm in simply moving it to another part of The White House?

And how does this square with Obama's oft-touted reputation as the man who would bring healing to America's (supposedly) frayed relations with the word?
