Yes, it was a joke.  Yes, it seemed unscripted.  But one never, ever,

ever jokes about the possibility of a rival (or anyone, for that matter) being assassinated.  Especially when many genuinely fear for that candidate's safety because of his race.

Such a remark isn't just wrong and graceless.  It's downright dumb.  Huckabee owes Barack, his supporters -- and, for that matter -- John McCain an apology.

Geez.  With friends like Huckabee, neither Republicans nor gun owners need adversaries.
