Pelosi Does a 180, Saying Dems 'Have No Red Lines' on Coronavirus Stimulus

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told CBS' Margaret Brennan that Democrats are ready to come to the table to work with Republicans to pass another Wuhan coronavirus stimulus package.

"We have no red lines but the fact is, the best protection for our workers and their employers is to follow OSHA mandatory guidelines. We have that in our bill," she explained. "That protects workers, protects their lives as well as protects their employer, if they follow the guidelines."

"Remember, when people go to work, they go home. They could bring [the Wuhan coronavirus] home to their children or they could bring it home to a senior living in their home," the speaker said. "This is beyond just the individual worth."

What Pelosi said completely contradicts what she said just a few days ago. She said the House would move forward and pass their HEROES Act – which they did – without hearing from their Republican counterparts. Both Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the legislation would be dead on arrival.

Now that Pelosi is realizing that she can't get this stimulus done without Republicans, she's changing her tune. But to say that Democrats have "no red line" is a bit ridiculous. Over the last few days Democrats have continually pushed for illegal aliens to receive stimulus funding, which is one of the biggest complaints Republicans have with the HEROES Act. In fact, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) used an example of a steel company having to return PPP funds, even though they adequately qualified for the loan, so that stimulus money could go to people that are in this country illegally.

Since the initial Wuhan coronavirus relief package came about, Pelosi and her Democratic cohorts have continually pushed their progressive wish list that includes things like offsetting airline emissions by 2025, bailing out the USPS and requiring early voting.

Democrats have never been worried about helping out the American people as they struggle to deal with this pandemic. Instead, Democrats are using this national emergency to try to completely reshape our nation.
