Sleepy Joe Attempts to Slam Trump for His Coronavirus Response and It Backfires

Former Vice President Joe Biden seems to continually forget where he's at, what office he's running for, and most recently, that President Donald Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to help deal with the Wuhan coronavirus.

On Sunday, Biden told ABC's George Stephanopoulos he wants to see the president make a number of moves.

"We have to move swiftly. We have to move more rapidly, to implement the Defense Production Act, power the supply commander, create a Defense Production Act for banks," the former vice president explained. "Ramp-up testing. A whole range of things. Gotta go faster than slower. And we started off awfully slow."

When Trump banned all flights to and from China, Biden called him a xenophobe. Now he's saying that Trump acted "too slow."

Biden seems to forget (or not know) that Trump invoked the DPA on March 18th to allocate necessary health and medical resources to fighting the Wuhan coronavirus. This limited distribution to things – like gloves and masks – that the civilian market would normally see.

Trump invoked the DPA again on March 23rd to prevent the hoarding of those crucial health and medical supplies.

On March 27th, Trump used the DPA to force General Motors to produce ventilators.

The president utilized the DPA on April 3rd to force 3M to prevent the company from exporting masks to other countries while the United States has a shortage of personal protective equipment.

How many more times does Trump need to invoke the DPA before Biden realizes (or accepts) that it's being used? The president has made clear that he's refrained from using the act as much as possible because the private sector and businesses across the nation have stepped up to help fight the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic.
