Oh, Brother: Nancy Pelosi is Hoping for 'Divine Intervention' to Keep Kavanaugh From Being Confirmed

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Friday said she is praying for "divine intervention" to keep Judge Brett Kavanaugh from becoming a justice on the Supreme Court, The Washington Free Beacon reported.

A reporter played out a scenario for Pelosi: if the Democrats took the House and Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) took control of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet, what recommendations would she give him in regards to the Kavanaugh nomination?

"I'm hoping that Judge Kavanaugh will not be a justice of the Supreme Court," she said. "Let's just take it one day at a time."

The reporter pressed her further, wanting to know if she believes Nadler should hold hearings, should the scenario become a reality. Her response was a little out there.

"I'm ever hopeful of an intervention, prayerful of a divine intervention," she said.

Pelosi also said she went on to read Mark Judge's book, God and Man at Georgetown Prep.

"You should read that book and you will see the kinds of activities that were engaged in, as the judge was trying to present himself as a beer-drinking alter boy," Pelosi explained.

Pelosi said she read the book recently when Judge's name came up in allegations against Kavanaugh.

According to Amazon's synopsis, Judge's book goes into details of his Catholic education and his first-hand accounts that make him believe Catholicism has become secular.

"In this account, the author explores the role of Catholicism in Catholic institutions, presenting three Catholic universities and discussing their lack of religious conviction, arguing for more Catholic theological education and less secularism," the synopsis says.
