No Replacement for Colmes

The top-rated Fox program "Hannity & Colmes" will soon be just "Hannity" according to a release from the network, quashing all talk of a liberal replacement for Alan Colmes.

“Sean is one of the top television and radio personalities in the business and we’re excited to be working with him on this venture," said FNC Senior Vice President of Programming Bill Shine. "When Alan Colmes left us with a void last month, we decided to build a new program utilizing Sean’s signature talents rather than take on the monumental task of replacing someone as exceptional as Alan and attempting to rebuild a rare chemistry that is unlikely to ever be matched in cable television again.”

Colmes announced he was leaving the show last month, prompting rumors and polls about who should fill the empty seat next to Hannity. There seemed to be a lot of online support for Democrat Kirsten Powers to counter the conservative Hannity, but Fox is confident Hannity will be a solo success.

The revamped version of the show will have a nightly segment that features a liberal, a conservative and a wild card guest and he will also have a regular spot to talk about his hate mail callled, "Hannity Hate Hotline."
