Dershowitz On Avenatti: His Affidavit Against Kavanaugh Is an Embarrassment And Could Be Ripped Apart In 30 Seconds

Well, what was supposed to be a smooth confirmation has turned into a circus the likes of which we’ve never seen. If you though the 1991 Clarence Thomas hearings were bad, the Brett Kavanaugh hearings have become a national disgrace. At the 11thhour, sexual misconduct allegations were dredged up. All three lack witnesses or evidence, but in liberal America, you’re guilty until proven innocent. Hordes of progressive protesters descended upon Washington. Christine Blasey Ford alleges that 17-year-old Kavanaugh tried to rape her. Deborah Ramirez alleges that Kavanaugh exposed himself a college party at Yale. And then, there’s Julie Swetnick, who has the most absurd allegation of all: that Kavanaugh was part of a gang rape ring. Her lawyer is Michael Avenatti, whose affidavit was torched by liberal lawyer Alan Dershowitz on Wednesday on Tucker Carlson’s show. He called it an “emabrrasement to the law” that could be shredded by any good defense attorney (via NTK Network):

“That affidavit is so deeply flawed and so open-ended that any good lawyer, any good defense attorney would be able to tear that apart in 30 seconds,” Dershowitz told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. “It’s an embarrassment to the law that anybody would file an affidavit like that, filled with hearsay.”

Carlson asked Dershowitz if there could be any consequences for Avenatti for filling such a flawed affidavit.

Dershowitz told Carlson that he doesn’t think the affidavit crossed the line that would result in Avenatti being disbarred.

With Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) caving to Democrats over another FBI investigation, which did nothing but leave Kavanaugh and his family subjected to another week of smears from the Left, the bureau is surely to look into all of these claims, which are beyond thin. The Trump White House ordered another FBI investigation; Kavanaugh has already undergone six—and this particular allegation is one that would have come up before the FBI in the background process. Silly season is in full force, and Democrats are playing to win. Republicans are still blind to what needs to be done here.
