With all of the racial turmoil and demand for ‘safe spaces’ throughout colleges campuses these days, it is refreshing to see someone break the mold. And you certainly will not see this make the headline news.
The hard-hitting inside linebacker for the University of Alabama, Reggie Ragland, has requested that the song “Dixieland Delight” be played for his final home game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL. Ragland was joined by other Alabama football players who are accustomed to hearing the song played by the band, "Alabama." The song has been under fire in recent years by the university's administration and has not been played at the stadium since the home opener. Alabama fans have sung the song a cappella in all the other home games this season.
