Trump and Paul Ryan Campaigning Together for the First Time

For the first time, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan will be campaigning alongside each other on Saturday.

Trump will appear at the annual Wisconsin Fall Fest located in Ryan’s southeastern Wisconsin district in the city of Elkhorn. Senator Ron Johnson and Governor Scott Walker will also be in attendance. Apparently, Trump has been eager to conduct a joint campaign event with Ryan and jumped at an opportunity to attend the Wisconsin festival which the Speaker attends every year.

The relationship between the two men has not been the most ideal. Earlier in the election cycle, Speaker Ryan rebuked several remarks made by Trump – notably disavowing his proposed Muslim ban. Ryan also showed hesitance for several weeks in endorsing Trump after it was clear he was going to become the eventual GOP nominee. Trump returned the favor by not endorsing Ryan during his primary race against a longshot challenger.

This wouldn’t be the first time Ryan has met with a Trump, however. He recently had a closed door meeting with Ivanka Trump in New York City.

Could this be the turning of a new page and beginning of a possible partnership between the Speaker of the House and a future President of the United States?

Only time will tell.
