BREAKING: Sen. Vitter to Run for Louisiana Governor

Senator David Vitter of Louisiana announced this morning that he will run for governor of Louisiana in 2015.

In a web video Vitter said, "I believe that as our next governor, I can have a bigger impact addressing the unique challenges and opportunities we face in Louisiana, helping us truly reach our full potential.”

The current governor, Bobby Jindal, is term limited and therefore Vitter would simply be taking his place, not challenging him.

This is quite an interesting move for the Senator as he was recently tied to a Washington prostitution scandal. Polls do show that he has recovered politically, but it will be interesting to see how this could affect his run for governor. He easily won his re-election campaign in 2010.
