MSNBC's Suspension of Olbermann Is Silly
As Katie mentioned below, Keith Olbermann has been suspended by MSNBC:

MSNBC President Phil Griffin announces Keith Olbermann suspended indefinitely without pay, after word he made political contributions

Look, I enjoy a little Olby misfortune as much as the next guy, but really?  Olbermann apparently made some political donations to liberal Democrats -- violating NBC News' editorial policy.  I can see why this might make sense for the likes of Brian Williams, Matt Lauer, & Co.  But Olbermann?  Does anyone consider him a newsman in any traditional sense?  I think the whole country fully understands that he's an in-the-tank Leftist.  It neither surprises nor offends me that he chose to send some of his own money to political candidates he supports.

This strikes me as a silly decision by the MSNBC brass, but there is an upside for them: Countdown's ratings will likely improve in Olby's absence.
