Democrats Accuse Barr of Holding 'Inappropriate' Press Conference

Before he releases a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian collusion report, Attorney General William Barr plans to hold a press conference. A group of Democratic House committee chairmen called the move "inappropriate" because, in their perspective, the presser is "designed to shape public perceptions of the report before anyone can read it."

They demand he cancel it.

Other Democratic leaders are not interested in hearing more of what Barr has to say. They want Mueller to testify. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer agree that Barr's handling of the report has been "regrettably partisan." They won't be satisfied until they hear from the special counsel himself.

None of Barr's oversight has been good enough for Democrats. Not the four-page summary of the report, not the redacted release today, and certainly not the special counsel's conclusion that Trump did not collude.

AG Barr will give his press conference at 9:30 a.m. ET.
