Mark Judge Prompted to Send New Letter to the Committee

Mark Judge, the other man Christine Blasey Ford said was in the room when Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh assaulted her in high school, sent a new letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday. Again, despite the demands of Democrats on the panel, Judge said he has no intention of appearing before them to testify.

He reiterated he does not remember anything like the scene Ford described, nor does he believe Kavanaugh is capable of such behavior. Judge also got pretty personal explaining that his battles with cancer and alcohol abuse result in him avoiding public speaking.

During his testimony time, Kavanaugh was asked about his old friendship with Judge, to which he commended him as a great writer and someone who has overcome great hardship.

Still, during her testimony Thursday, Ford insisted - she was "100 percent" certain - that it was Kavanaugh and Judge who pinned her, covered her mouth and tried to rape her 36 years ago at a high school gathering. She even said that she thought Kavanaugh would "accidentally" kill her.

Kavanaugh "emphatically" denies all allegations.

"This is not who I am, and this is not who I was," he told the committee.

In another interesting development, Judge's ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Rasor told the committee she is ready to talk about the alleged incident to the FBI. Rasor was interviewed by the New Yorker last week after Judge denied engaging in "horseplay" at Georgetown Prep.

“I can’t stand by and watch him lie," she said.

At Friday's hearing on Kavanaugh, shortly before the committee was set to vote, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) put forward a motion to subpoena Judge to testify so "other facts can be uncovered." The letter, he said, is "no substitute" for an FBI interview.
