The DNC Had a Really, Really Bad July

Under the leadership of Tom Perez, who took over as the new chair in March, the Democratic National Committee has been starved for cash.

The DNC raised only $3.8M last month, clocking in its worst July of fundraising in a decade. They also added $154,000 in new debt, bringing the grand total to $3.4 million.

The RNC, meanwhile, is chugging along. They gained $10.2 million in July and has a grand total of $0 in debt.

A CNN host straight out asked Perez what was his deal. Why is he scaring away donors?

Instead of offering a legitimate explanation, he chose to attack GOP voters who want Obamacare repealed.

Yes, the Republicans have so far failed to repeal and replace Obamacare, but the Democrats have likewise failed to even come up with their own inspiring ideas. Heck, they can't even come up with a good slogan. Their recent suggestion, "A Better Deal," left much to be admired and was mocked by even left-of-center networks.

Then, you have the whole confusion over the party's "litmus test." The party has been tripping over itself trying to figure out whether or not they should demand members adhere to a uniform pro-abortion agenda. Some leaders say it's not necessary and that all are welcome, yet even Perez has pushed back at that rhetoric. Fall in line or else, he told the party in April.

All of the above could explain the Democrats' lack of funds. That, and Perez's potty mouth.

You know who had the best summary? White House Counsel Kellyanne Conway.
