Twitter Is Reminding Schumer About a Tweet He Sent in 2015 Regarding National Security

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) wept over President Trump's executive order on immigration on Sunday. The executive action, which bars travelers from seven Middle Eastern and African nations, is "mean-spirited and un-American,” he said.

In the light of Schumer's emotional speech, Twitter users are reminding the senator about a tweet he sent in February of 2015 - one which is now terribly awkward.

The New York senator backed up his tweet at the time by telling Congress "a pause" on refugee resettlement in the U.S. "may be necessary."

Because it wasn't long ago that Schumer shared some common ground with Trump and his immigration plans, Twitter users are calling out the senator's hypocrisy.
