Eagles of Death Metal Frontman Has Some Harsh Words on Gun Control

On November 13, 2015, concertgoers in Paris attending an Eagles of Death Metal show came under attack by a band of Islamic militants armed with guns, suicide vests, and hand grenades. Eighty-nine people were killed in the attack. The band returned to Paris this week, and will be performing another show on Tuesday evening. Prior to the concert, lead singer Jesse Hughes was interviewed by a French television station, and was asked at one point about his views on gun control. Hughes responded that he thought France's gun control laws were completely ineffective at stopping people from dying, and he argued for universal gun ownership.

“I know people will disagree with me, but it just seems like God made men and women, and that night guns made them equal,” he said. “And I hate it that it’s that way. I think the only way that my mind has been changed is that maybe that until nobody has guns everybody has to have them.

“Because I’ve never seen anyone that’s ever had one dead, and I want everyone to have access to them, and I saw people die that maybe could have lived, I don’t know.”

Hughes has been a vocal advocate in the past for the Second Amendment.

A terrorist who is willing to blow himself up to kill people isn't going to give a lick about gun control laws. It's important to remember this.
