Ben Affleck stars as the troubled widow Jack Cunningham in the new Warner Bros. Studios film "The Way Back." Once an athletic all-star, Jack is now a recovering alcoholic who finds a bit of redemption when he's recruited to coach a struggling high school basketball team.
“I have a feeling this team is not as bad as its record," Jack says in the newly released trailer after meeting his new players. "We have to trust each other.”
Jack's coaching is a bit unorthodox. (Yelling "bulls**t" in a high school gymnasium probably isn't going to win over the parents.) But, it's clear that he's a man determined to change his ways.
"We can't change the past, Jack," one character tells him. "What we can do is choose how we move forward."
