Joe Biden Is Following the BLM Playbook – And Here’s What Could Be Next

It didn’t take long for Joe Biden and Democrats to start pushing their radical agenda in Washington. Starting just hours after he was sworn into office, Biden’s White House began pumping out dozens of executive orders, many advancing extreme policies that might shock even some of his voters.

But for those of us who have been following leftist groups like the Black Lives Matter organization, Biden’s early actions have not been surprising. In fact, last year BLM gave us a playbook for what we can expect from Biden’s administration for the next four years. That playbook is BLM’s signature legislative proposal: the BREATHE Act.

While it’s been presented as a civil rights bill to address police brutality, the BREATHE Act would actually impose a new, 21st-century segregation on society. Already, President Biden has begun to enact key pieces of this proposal: defunding private prisonspushing for more high-density housing in suburbs, and advancing “Critical Race Theory” throughout the government.

And unfortunately, it will not end here. An American Principles Project (APP) analysis of the BREATHE Act has shown it is full of radical proposals that would cause great harm to Americans, and especially the black community. Here are just a few:

Decriminalizing Prostitution and Sex Trafficking

The BREATHE Act calls for repealing the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act, the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act and the Mann Act, effectively decriminalizing the transportation of individuals for illegal sexual activity. Like many in the black community, I was sexually assaulted as a child, so this particular provision strikes close to home. We should be doing everything we can to obtain justice for victims, but BLM and their Democrat allies would instead have victims stay silent as their souls are broken forever after being violated. This is horribly wrong.

Decriminalizing Failure to Pay Child Support

While it is true family courts need reform because too many people are taking advantage of the system, taking deadbeat parents off the hook financially is not the way to do it. Both parents need to be held accountable for their actions, not the state or taxpayers. However, the BREATHE Act calls for doing away with criminal penalties for failing to pay child support. This would be disastrous.

Abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

With over 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States and more coming in daily, how does eliminating ICE help black communities? The answer is that it does not! Mass illegal immigration negatively affects low-income, working-class blacks across the board. It stretches the education system and welfare services to the breaking point. And it leaves our communities less safe. No wonder polling has shown black Americans are strongly opposed to it.

Repealing Gang-related Offenses

It seems like a never-ending story in our cities: violent attacks spilling into neighborhoods as innocent men, women and children are gunned down senselessly over foolish turf wars. I have personally risked my life to protect and relocate single black mothers and their children who were targeted by gangs. So, let’s get this straight: BLM and their Democrat friends want to help gang members to not be held accountable for their actions? That’s simply unconscionable.

Funding Abortion with Taxpayer Dollars

Let’s get real: Abortion is the number one killer of black people in America. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), abortion kills more black people than homicide, HIV, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and car accidents…combined. Over 21 million black lives have been snuffed out since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, nearly 48 percent of all black people living in America today. Why should taxpayers fund black genocide and how can black lives truly matter if we are not allowed to be born?

Teaching Our Kids in Schools that America Is Evil

Sure, America is not perfect, but it is still the best place to build a successful life. In 1992, I was homeless at 18 years old, and sleeping on the streets of Atlanta. But today, thanks to God’s grace, the help of many friends and strangers alike, and my own hard work, I have built a much better life. This is what America is all about!

But the BREATHE Act calls for reshaping our public education system, teaching our children that this country is at its heart racist and white supremacist. This couldn’t be further from the vision of Martin Luther King Jr., and it would poison the minds of a generation.

Unfortunately, these are just a few of many extreme actions which the BREATHE Act calls for, and which pro-BLM activists are likely now working toward in the Biden administration. This is why every American needs to be informed and prepared to oppose these destructive policies if Joe Biden and Democrats try to advance them. The well-being of the black community and our combined American family depends on it.
