Pelosi And Her Democrats: ‘Let Us Prey’

When Nancy Pelosi ripped up Trump’s State of the Union speech last week, the truth came out:  She hates him.  So do the Democrats. We’re not stupid.

After an inspiring speech filled with the human touch, Pelosi dumped cold water on a gush of desperately needed warm feelings. Beneath the tears and cheers that engulfed the House Chamber, a muttering Pelosi was busy plotting to suck the air from the room.  Fidgeting all night from her Speaker’s perch, she was the evening’s “Cruella de Vil.”

Pelosi’s premeditated rip was a clarion call for Democrats to keep preying, post-acquittal.  After suffering for so long under the noxious air of good vibes, she just lost it.

The next day, we hardly heard anything about the 100-year-old Tuskegee airmen and his great-grandson, the soldier who surprised his family, the little girl who survived premature birth, or the little black girl who wanted a better school. Instead, the news shifted to Pelosi.  The golden moment to embellish their stories was lost forever.

We lost something, too.  News about Pelosi shredding Trump’s “manifesto of mistruths” overshadowed all the warm feelings that America could have enjoyed had the momentum of the evening’s most moving moments lingered into the next day.  Pelosi poisoned those moments and dragged the country down an uglier path.

It’s obvious now.  Pelosi and her Democrats have misread the Bible’s admonition to “pray without ceasing” as prey without ceasing.  They know nothing about governing but are wise as serpents at weaving coils of twisted fact and fiction to hiss at Trump ad nauseam, no matter what political miracles he performs.

The president was dead right at last week’s National Prayer Breakfast: All the talk about faith, prayer and religion are haloes they wear to hide their horns. Trump’s critics, settling for an ignoble peace, only pretend that’s not true.

“I don’t hate anybody!” Pelosi snapped after reporter James Rosen asked her directly if she hated the president at her Dec. 5 press conference.   “As a Catholic, I resent you using the word ‘hate’ in a sentence that addresses me. …  I was raised in a way with a heart full of love, and I always pray for the president.  And I still pray for the president.  I pray for the president all the time.  So, don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that!”

In the same breath she called Trump a coward, a violator of his oath of office, and cruel.

At Thursday’s press conference Pelosi led into her remarks by mumbling: “Just got back from the Prayer Breakfast.  So, let’s all be very prayerful.”  Then she accused Trump of using the House Chamber as a backdrop for a reality show; that he has no contact with reality “whatsoever”; and that she extended her hand to shake his because “he looked, to me, like he was a little sedated – he looked that way last year, too.”

“I feel very liberated,” she said, answering a question about tearing up Trump’s speech.  “I feel very liberated. … he shredded the truth in his speech; he’s shredding the Constitution in his conduct; I shredded his State of His Mind address.”

Yeah.  Praise the Lord, Madame Speaker.

The party that worked so hard for decades to erase God from schools, government and public life; the party of late-term abortion; and the party of “If you don’t work, you can eat all you want,” now expects us to believe that their born-again spirituality is real.  Hypocrisy, as they say, is the homage that vice pays to virtue.

It’s a small thing that Trump blurted that “it’s all B@!!S#*t” when you look at the full picture of what these people have done to him, his family and to those he says came to Washington “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed,” but left beaten and ruined.

Since his 2016 win, they’ve worked like the devil to jerry-rig the machinery of government to undo his election, in plain sight.  Democrats have mocked, maligned, mischaracterized, undermined, threatened and thwarted Trump and his initiatives at every turn, then wonder why he’s having trouble loving his enemies. What we’re seeing has nothing to do with loving your enemies!

Democrats have channeled the same brand of biblical hatred for Trump that Palestinians have for Israel.  Should Israel love those enemies?  Palestinians don’t want peace with Israel, they want to destroy Israel.   Democrats nurture the same contempt.   They want Trump gone, period!  Nothing he does will stop them from lobbing bombs over his political border.

Just as Palestinians will never acknowledge Israel’s right to exist, Democrats have refused to acknowledge Trump’s electoral legitimacy. They never will. This is what we’re dealing with. Trump, flawed as he is, knows that.  Rather than wishing things were different, he deals with these people just as they are.  We should, too. They are hateful, vengeful, relentless, uncompromising and extremely dangerous to our institutions.

Unless Pelosi and the Democrats are held accountable for what they’re doing – whether at the polls or in the criminal justice system – there’s not an ounce of evidence that they’ll ever stop preying.  It’s a religion now – a god they’ve vowed to obey above all others.
