Is everyone taking hits of Hunter Biden's crack pipe? Does anyone believe that the Department of Homeland Security's disinformation governance board won't overreach and infringe on the free speech rights of Americans? You cannot make this up. Democrats think voters will nod their heads in agreement. Liberals will, of course, because they know the true nature of this board. We'd have a taxpayer-funded thought police.

I love how misinformation, or disinformation, is a recent phenomenon. To the left, history began in 2016. It feeds into the Trump-Russia collusion nonsense. And the name of this clown town board is troubling. Apparently, DHS thought it was fine because it had zero messaging strategy on this initiative. Oh, and the head of DHS is giving the assurances that this board won't become the Gestapo.

Maybe the fact that it had no communications outline to outlay what the misinformation board does was intentional. Hell, it probably was intentional. They had no talking points because we all guessed what this board would do—its head is a bona fide Russian collusion truther. What could possibly go wrong?

DHS Secretary Mayorkas took to the Sunday Morning Shows this weekend to try and set the record straight (via Politico):

“It works to ensure that the way in which we address threats, the connectivity between threats and acts of violence are addressed without infringing on free speech — protecting civil rights and civil liberties, the right of privacy,” Mayorkas told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”

Mayorkas in another interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” reiterated that the board will work on ways to address disinformation “in a way that does not infringe on free speech, does not infringe on civil liberties.”

DHS announced the creation of its Disinformation Governance Board on Wednesday with the goal of countering disinformation coming from Russia and rebutting misleading information aimed at migrants hoping to travel to the U.S.-Mexico border. He cited, as an example, phony information that is reaching Haitian communities that tells them the border is open.

…Mayorkas said on CNN on Sunday that while “we probably could have done a better job of communicating what it does and does not do,” the criticisms of the board “are precisely the opposite of what this small working group within the Department of Homeland Security will do.”

I don't trust you, man. Sorry, too many institutions have been weaponized by Democrats to come after us. The Internal Revenue Service was deputized with leading a crusade against conservative nonprofits. The FBI and Department of Justice went after AP reporters—they seized their phone records—and tried to make the case that then-Fox News reporter James Rosen was a co-conspirator in the leaking of classified information about North Korea. Rosen simply did his job, filing a story about the country that contained classified information. The FBI doctored evidence to secure spy warrants on the Trump campaign officials and the campaign itself.

Crossfire Hurricane will forever live in infamy regarding how a government law enforcement agency can act outside the bounds of the law with impunity. It's all been revealed, sure. I'm not saying that isn't important, but who is going to jail for this breach of civil liberties? Who? The FBI knew the Steele Dossier, which served as the bureau's basis for all this Russian collusion nonsense, was known to be fake. It knew it was a Clinton campaign opposition research effort, yet the agency built a massive surveillance operation from it. Talk about a literal house of cards. There is a Deep State. A member wrote about it in The New York Times opinion section. The CIA even admitted that the Trump-Russia collusion narrative was user-created and simply not plausible. It knew—but wanted to hamstring a duly elected president because it didn't like him.

We're going to trust these hyper-left wing DHS officials with not being the IRS or FBI in this pursuit of combating disinformation? Also, Mayorkas citing the border crisis as a reason for why this type of disinformation operation must be created is beyond rich. You're making it worse. There is an open border—you want that. So, just spare us, man. We all know you're lying, and the government will show up at people's homes with guns demanding to see social media histories. That's coming.

All of this being established before the 2022 midterms is another hilarious turn of events. They can't run on Biden's record because, like him, it's applesauce. There is no record of accomplishment, only incompetence. The left can't use January 6 because no one cares about that when job growth is anemic, the market is crashing, inflation is soaring, and gas prices are out of control. What's the cause of all this?

Disinformation. Or maybe it's because you're the mayor of suck city, Joe.
