Let’s Have an Election About Voter ID, and Other Inverted Nonsense

In what is being touted as a “win” for election “integrity,” the Nevada Supreme Court has unanimously ruled in favor of allowing citizens to gather 100,000+ signatures to support a ballot referendum to vote on passing voter ID laws. Americans, how do I fool thee? Let me count the ways:

  1. Voter ID. Americans are often surprised to discover that this is already law. States have the authority, resources and affirmative duty to authenticate every potential registrant before adding them to the list of qualified voters. The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 allows applicants to commit clerical errors, transpose their names, register more than once, and attest to citizenship without proof. In no way does that absolve election officials from their obligation to verify voter identity and eligibility by whatever means necessary.

In fact, states are constitutionally obligated to provide their citizens with an accurate and lawful election. If non-citizens or other ineligible registrants get ballots, the state is accountable for failing to protect the civil rights of their qualified citizen voters. Counting a single illegal ballot from a voter you do not bother to identify is felony misconduct. The law of the land says a state will lose apportionment—federal funds, congressional representation, and Electoral College votes—for abridging your civil right to an honest election in any way.

  1. Signature Gathering. Many Americans are by now familiar with the rampant illegal disregard of the signature verification requirements in many states, when mailed-in ballots are processed for tabulation. Most would be shocked to learn that the opposite standards are often applied when it comes to ballot access. Court proceedings have been long favored as a means of enforcing the veracity of every scrawl alleged to support the addition of a candidate or referundum to the ballot itself. This is due to the fact that ballot initiatives directly challenge the power of those elected by our broken election system, and the winner of an election gets direct access to your wallet.

If craven interests disagree with a ballot initiative that could result in actual political reform, legitimate signatures in favor may end up dumped as obvious non-matches, preventing voters from ever seeing the issue on a ballot. Justifications used in other circumstances to defend bad signatures will vanish like warm chocolate chip cookies, if that position might directly challenge those in power.

  1. Vote on Voter ID. Due to the wanton disregard of election officials towards their duty to verify the identity and citizenship of registration applicants nationwide, voter rolls are laden, nay sodden, with deadwood. Deadwood registrations are not voters, despite attempts to make them appear real and eligible. The practice has been around as long as elections, but by allowing automatic online registration we invite the newest exploding form of fraud, synthetic identity theft, to flood registration lists.

United Sovereign Americans (USA) has identified over 21 million individual registration records, in eleven states, that are facially invalid. As a result of these “voters” illegally getting ballots 5.5 million times, USA has measured voting error rates in the 2022 midterm election of 12-20%. Before we can vote on anything in 2024, this has to be fixed.

Are all of these registrants fake? The response by election officials to these factual claims extracted from their own official data has universally been denial of a fair hearing or investigation, despite the volume of apparent fraud and national security risk. New York State Attorney General Letitia James responded to a comprehensive report containing 5.1 million registration violations and 745,000 illegal votes by investigating NY Citizens Audit for alleged violations of the Ku Klux Klan Act, in a tired ad hominem attack on the messenger. The Ohio Secretary of State, Frank LaRose, responded to 1.2 million registration violations resulting in 600,000 illegal votes by removing 137 non-citizen registrants from the official Ohio list of voters, then championing his effort whilst publicly decrying USA volunteers.

The excuses are the same, “It’s TOO HARD to be accurate.” Yet banks, payments systems and credit card companies are successful at processing hundreds of millions of paper and electronic transactions from verified customers daily. Accepting and counting ballots without verification of identity is election fraud. Since 1964, it has been settled law that such dilution of the legitimate vote is an equal civil rights crime to denial of the vote. In the US Constitution this is called abridgment of the right to vote. Manipulating Americans to fear disenfranchisement of a single voter without a balanced consideration of counting illegal ballots is a sham that must end.

Our governing document, the internal peace treaty between opposing political positions known as the US Constitution, is at risk. Our fail-proof system of representative government relies on legitimate representation, not just the appearance of such. Enemies of liberty are working overtime to prevent the American people from wielding control over our own destiny and legacy. An honestly counted and provable vote are already the defining rights of every American citizen. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Help fix it here.
