Alexander Hamilton and The Right to Fight the Government

This is a great quote from Hamilton and something all Americans used to know.  It is one of the founding principles of the United States and is exactly why the current Democratic Party hates America and our Founding Fathers so much.  The Democrats want a totalitarian government—that means a subservient, obedient populace who will not fight the government, but will give total power to tyrants and do what they are told.  If they can’t get the current crop of Americans to kiss their feet, they will import millions of foreigners who will.  This is the major battle being fought in American politics today—between those who believe what Hamilton said, and the Democratic Party who believes in Karl Marx and his totalitarian diktats.

According to America’s Founders, governments exist to protect the rights, the freedoms, of the people:  “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men.”   Note please, “that to secure [protect] these rights, governments are instituted among men.” 

Government doesn’t GIVE us our rights, the government only exists to PROTECT the rights we already have, rights given to us by God.  That is in the founding document of America, the Declaration of Independence.  This is not what the Democratic Party today believes.  They won’t say this out loud, but their every movement, and the “Founding Father” of modern “progressivism,” Karl Marx, tells us that our rights come from the government because there isn’t any God anyway.  How can our rights come from a being that doesn’t even exist?  Thus, the highest form of authority on earth now is the government, and that entity will tell you what “freedoms” it will allow you to have.

Because of this incredible dichotomy, we see the Left in America making severe attacks upon the Founders of our country, and upon the history, traditions, and culture of the United States.  They hate the country the way it was established, i.e., upon a God-given system of rights, and a limited purpose for government.  Ultimately, this is a battle between God and atheism, between who rules—God or government.  Our Founders and Traditional Americans say “God”; the Democratic Party and “progressives” say “government”.  You can’t get any more fundamental than that, but that is the basic cause.  And you don’t kill the weeds by just plucking the head; you must destroy the root to destroy the plant. 

The Declaration of Independence continues with a traditional American thesis the Left also hates:  “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it.”  Any government that abuses its purpose can be “altered” or “abolished.”  The ONLY source of government’s authority is the people—"[governments] deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”  When the government doesn’t do what the people tell it to do, the people can change it, actually, any time they want to.  It belongs to them.  The people don’t exist to serve the government; the government exists to serve the people.  That is anathema to the “progressive,” “elitist”, Democratic Party.

Governments want power and demand obedience; the people want freedom and to have a government that will protect those freedoms, not take them away.  It is a dichotomy that has existed all through history, it is why the United States was born, and it is what the Democratic Party wants to obliterate.

And hence the Hamilton quote at the beginning of this article.  Note that when a government is “amassing” too much power, it “betrays” the people—the government is supposed to obey the people, not visa-versa.  When it doesn’t do that, it becomes “tyrannical.”  If that happens, Mr. Hamilton said, the people “HAVE NO CHOICE but to exercise their original right of self-defense—to fight the government.”  The people are endowed with freedom from God, not government.  They only establish a government to PROTECT those freedoms.  If the government becomes the enemy and starts taking away those freedoms, the people have no choice but to fight the government.  “It is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government,” Jefferson wrote in the Declaration.  This is, of course, exactly why the Second Amendment was written—to protect the people from the possibility of the government becoming tyrannical and restricting their God-given freedoms.  And it is, of course, why tyrants like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and the Democratic Party are so desperate to take arms away from the populace.  Tyrants like Joe Biden don’t want the people shooting back when they come to eliminate freedoms.

Most of you, I’m sure, recognize this as American History 101.  This is basic, it shouldn’t need to be written.  But how many Americans today have absolutely no clue about any of this?  The Democratic Party thinks it is more important to teach children how to play with their genitals than for them to understand the basics of American history and their God-given freedoms.  And that is because the Democratic Party, 100%, doesn’t want the American people to have God-given freedom.  They only want Americans to have a government (Democratic Party) given freedoms—freedoms the Democrats can take away any time they so choose.  Go live in communist China, like I did for ten years, if you want to see it in action.

We have a right, a duty, we “have no choice” but to fight the government when it becomes tyrannical. We were warned by our Founders.  Americans better start paying attention before it’s too late.
