Ilhan Omar's diminutive words "some people did something" were more than just a slap in our American faces; these words were salt on the gaping 9/11 wound that will never heal for as long as we shall call ourselves American. But concentrating on the pain of our wound has led us to ignore the larger problem before us: why did Omar downplay Islamic terrorism against Americans while simultaneously decrying terrorism against Muslims abroad? Why did Omar lie about CAIR? What is the driving force behind Ilhan Omar?

Every word out of Ilhan Omar's mouth from her speech at CAIR was an affront to Americans, and the story she is selling is an Islamic terrorist white-wash lie.

"CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties," Omar said.

Islamic terrorists ("some people") killed thousands of Americans in the name of Islam ("did something") for their Muslim leader Osama Bin Laden, who CAIR, a designated terrorist organization with ties to terrorists throughout the world, tried to shield from American bad press prior to the attacks and defended as innocent following the attacks. (There, I fixed it for you, Ilhan.)

Why did Ilhan Omar say these words? Why did she lie? What is her motivation? We need to review the CAIR speech as a whole, we need to judge the words in their full context.

Omar began her speech at CAIR by decrying the recent terror attack against Muslim worshippers in New Zealand mosques. “So we are coming off a tragic, tragic nightmare that has happened to Muslims in New Zealand,” she lamented. Omar then went on to explain how Muslims are victims of discrimination following 9/11, describing the Islamic terrorist attack on America as “some people did something.”

Compare Omar's two terrorist act descriptions from the same speech. An Islamic terrorist attack killing 3,000 people on American soil while injuring an additional 6,000, people of all faiths, creeds, and colors, amounts to “some people did something.” But a non-Islamist terrorist attack killing 50 Muslims abroad is “a tragic, tragic nightmare.” Doubly "tragic," you see, when Muslims are the victims, but just "something" when Americans are the victims.

All terrorist murders, irrespective of motive, are heinous tragedies, evil deeds, that should be condemned, punished and proactively prevented. But diminishing a treacherous assault on the countrymen to whom you have sworn allegiance, while at the same time paying respect to a tragedy abroad, is highly suspicious. It is even more dubious when you do this on behalf of terrorist sponsor CAIR, while simultaneously lying about CAIR's origins.

CAIR was founded in 1994 by Hamas terrorist sympathizers. Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization in the United States. CAIR is directly tied to Hamas. CAIR is a designated terrorist organization in the United Arab Emirates. Since its inception as a white-collar version of Islamist supporters, CAIR has been actively involved in white-washing Islamic terrorism. They engage in liberal politics to create false sympathy for their cause, slyly slandering reporting against Islamists as "hate" and designating themselves as victims of American prejudices. For those unfamiliar with Hamas and how they operate, lying and manipulating politics is their modus operandi. CAIR simply follows suit.

Since Hamas is primarily concerned with promoting a fully Islamic Middle East and destroying Israel, CAIR is typically involved with anti-Israeli / pro-Islamist politics. In 2014, for example, CAIR was at such a rally in Florida, screaming "let's go Hamas, we are Hamas, we are Jihad!” while holding up Holocaust denial signs and calling Israel a terrorist state. Indeed, the majority of CAIR activities are anti-Israeli and anti-semitic in nature, going so far as to blame Jews for 9/11 attacks.

Following 9/11, CAIR started a campaign of conspiracy theories about the origins of 9/11. Al-Haj Ghazi Khankan, Executive Director of CAIR's New York chapter, claimed that the attacks were not perpetrated by Osama Bin Laden or by Muslims, but were in fact performed by “impersonators” who gained a benefit by blaming Muslims. These conspiracy theories have thrived in Muslim communities and are alive and well today. Ilhan Omar's full speech at CAIR is of rather chilling similarity to the conspiracy theories perpetuated by CAIR right after the 9/11 attacks, as are Omar's relentless anti-semitic fits.

CAIR senior operatives have been convicted of terrorism-related offenses in the U.S. and have been sentenced to prison time for their activities. The DOJ named CAIR as a co-conspirator in a criminal case against terrorist supporters in the U.S. An FBI agent testified that CAIR was a front group for terrorist organizations operating in the U.S. CAIR board member Abdurahman Alamoudi was sentenced to 23 years imprisonment for directing at least $1 million to al-Qaeda. This is the same al-Qaeda that Ilhan Omar pronounced with a proud, puffed out chest, and the same Islamist terrorist organization that was responsible for the 9/11 attacks, orchestrated by Osama Bin Laden. Oh, and about Osama and CAIR – prior to 9/11, CAIR tried to help Osama Bin Laden be viewed in a favorable light after he orchestrated multiple terrorist attacks against Americans, and after 9/11, CAIR covered for Bin Laden, calling him innocent.

Ilhan Omar has spent her time in politics actively advocating on behalf of dangerous Islamic fundamentalists. Omar voted against a bill that denies life insurance benefits to radical terrorist policyholders who kill Americans. She has tweeted support for an Egyptian prisoner with terrorist ties. She submitted a letter on behalf of an ISIS member, asking a U.S. judge for "compassion" at sentencing. Omar has been raising money for terrorist front groups. She blamed the U.S. for "our involvement in other people’s affairs" as the cause of the Islamic terrorism that killed 70 people and wounded 200 in Kenya – which is strikingly similar to the language used by CAIR to blame the U.S. for inducing the 9/11 Islamist attacks.

Ilhan Omar has never apologized for her language. She has not made any attempt to distance herself from CAIR or from terrorism. Ilhan simply plays a victim card, straight out of the Hamas political playbook.

Democrats and liberal media have come to Omar’s defense, claiming she is entitled to speak freely and that criticism of her statements is endangering Ilhan Omar’s safety. Conservatives balked at the ridiculous  double-standard, the attempted suppression of criticism. Yet all were left to ponder unanswered questions about Omar’s speech. Is she simply misunderstood, like CAIR claims to be?
