I think it was Ben Domenech, founder of The Federalist, who coined the phrase, "Consider the possibility that we are led by morons." I may be paraphrasing, but he just wanted everyone across the political spectrum to pause for a moment and consider the reality. It really is the reality, not just a possibility, that the people with their hands on the levers of power in this country, especially in Washington, DC, and the political realm (elected officials, people who run the government, military) are actually a bunch of fools – just idiots, complete and total morons. And that is a bipartisan sentiment; I'd like to say. And that brings us to today's visit with Karine Jean-Pierre's appearance on MSNBC with Chris Hayes and Joe Biden's response to a foreign policy question on the new alliance between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
