Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's kangaroo court examining the January 6 Capitol riots will begin next week, and it appears the only Republican on the congressional committee will be Liz Cheney who was hand-picked by the highly partisan speaker herself.

Rep. Jim Banks and Rep. Jim Jordan were slated by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to participate in the select committee, but Wednesday, Pelosi took the unprecedented move to block their participation by rejecting McCarthy's selections. McCarthy rightly withdrew all of his party's members from the select committee, and Cheney, who was recently ousted from a leadership position by her own party, will be the only Republican at the table.

Cheney is literally a Pelosi-approved Republican. That's who she is. And she's the only type of Republican Nancy Pelosi could possibly do business with because she will do whatever Pelosi tells her to do. There's a word for that kind of Republican, but it escapes me at the moment

What Cheney says, does, and stands for is not entirely important as it pertains to the make-up of this committee. Her story is one we've witnessed all too often over the course of the past several decades. In fact, it's gotten rather tiresome at this point.

The more interesting conversation revolves around what Banks and Jordan said, did, and stood for that rendered them ineligible for this committee in the mind of Pelosi.

Banks and Jordan spoke openly in the past several days about their contempt for the politicization of the events of January 6 and the obvious intention on behalf of Pelosi's Democrats to walk our nation into another failed impeachment-style witch hunt. They called Madame Speaker out for her divisive plan to pit Americans against Americans by painting every Republican, conservative, and Trump supporter as a segregationist, racist, insurrectionist who pose the greatest terror threat to our nation's security than any foreign enemy of our time.

We've heard Pelosi echo this same mantra for months now. It's become as common as the Critical Race Theory curriculum we all had to overhear in our kids' high school zoom classes this past year.

In January, Pelosi referred to members of her august institution as her "enemies," so why should Banks, Jordan, McCarthy, and the other Republicans have any faith in her ability to lead this investigation in a fair and judicious way?

"The enemy is within the House of Representatives," she screeched when reflecting on the events of January 6 that led to a doofus in bison antlers to parade around the senate chambers.

"There’s no way around it," Banks tweeted. "Speaker Pelosi created the committee solely to malign conservatives & justify the Left's authoritarian agenda."

Where's the lie?

But Banks and Jordan went further in voicing their intentions to use the select committee to really hone in on some important issues surrounding that winter day in Washington.

Jordan, in particular, let Pelosi know exactly what he would focus on in his time on the committee, Pelosi's own failures. And that's how he lost his ticket to the dance.

"Why wasn't there a proper security presence at the Capitol that day?" Jordan asked at a news conference Wednesday. "Only one person can answer that question. Only one. The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives."

To not have Jordan lead an investigation into the intelligence and security failures on January 6 would be like the 9/11 commission never looking into how Mohammed Atta got a box cutter onto the plane.

The only questions left unanswered at this point as it pertains to January 6 center around the Mayor of Washington, DC, the deployment and engagement of the National Guard, the actions of the Capitol Police, and the possible knowledge or even participation of FBI informants within the ranks of the rioters.

And those are all of the questions Jordan and Banks were going to ask, and that's why they are history.

Pelosi and Cheney don't want to hear the truth because they can't handle the truth. But, make no mistake... they know the truth. That's why they will move heaven and earth to keep you from ever hearing it.
