On March 15, 2020, then-presidential candidate Joe Biden vowed to choose a woman as his vice president. The pledge was made as a way to unify the warring Democratic Party, with so-called moderates and progressives at each other's throats. Heading into Election Day, Biden needed to shore up votes from his side of the political aisle to get over the finish line.

"I commit that I will, in fact, appoint a woman to be vice president," Mr. Biden said during a Democratic primary debate hosted by CNN.

The woman he eventually chose was Kamala Harris, the most progressive member of the U.S. Senate. She even beat out socialist Bernie Sanders for the top slot.

"Democratic running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) is one of the busier senators when it comes to introducing congressional legislation. Her 54 bills introduced in 2019 tied for 19th-most among all 100 senators, while her 52 bills introduced in 2017–18 put her in the top third among senators," GovTrack analyzed about Harris' Senate work in 2019. "The Senate has been controlled by Republicans for all of Harris's tenure, limiting her legislation's odds of passage significantly. Still, four of her 131 bills were enacted into law — that's good for a first-term Democratic senator. We selected a handful of the bills she introduced to see what her legislation looks like, especially given our ranking her as the most left-leaning senator in 2019 based on cosponsorship."

Now, ten months into Biden's presidency, Harris has proven to be a disaster. Her approval ratings are in the toilet, her staff is jumping ship and the House is reportedly exploring options to replace her.

"There is a lot of conjecture right now about the future of Vice President Harris and her lagging poll numbers," Fox News Capitol Hill producer Chad Pergram recently said. "I got a message recently from someone who knows Capitol Hill very well and they suggested I should familiarize myself with the process to confirm a vacancy for the vice president in the Senate and in the House. To be clear — to be clear — this is not something to say that something is afoot here, but I always do my homework, especially about process. Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, who served under President Ford, was the last vice president confirmed by Congress. The Senate and House must confirm a vice president."

According to fresh USA Today polling, Harris' disapproval rate sits at a whopping 51 percent, with just 28 percent approval. With the drag on the administration, rumors are swirling on Capitol Hill. It's almost as if her dropping out of the Democratic primary before a single vote was cast could have been a warning about her qualifications and likability.

Further, the far-left stranglehold on the Biden administration's policy direction is tanking President Biden's presidency. As the border continues to be overrun, Americans are noticing, and approval among independents is cratering.

"Key issues leading to the declining support for Biden are his handling of immigration, where 58 percent disapprove (27 percent approve), and the economy, where 53 percent disapprove (36 percent approve)," a recent Grinnell-Selzer poll found. "In particular, the economy was a sore spot, with just 36 percent saying they believe the economy will be in a better position 12 months from now. That's an 11 point drop from a previous poll in March."

Given Biden's decision to bring Harris with him to the White House, despite her inability to win a single Democrat vote in the 2020 primary, he deserves the consequences of his choice. Given Harris called Biden a racist yet pushed the accusation aside for the sake of becoming vice president, she's also reaping what she's sown.
