Biden’s refusal to protect the Southern border has resulted in deaths, injuries, property loses, and theft—and that tragedy will define him for all time to come.  Biden’s shameful abdication of his most fundamental duty as Commander-in-Chief (to protect the security of the United States) will be his most memorable, lasting and reprehensible legacy.  His unwavering refusal to protect the Southern Border in the face of myriad lethal threats makes it unmistakable that his true agenda is one of nihilism.  He is presiding over the destruction of innocent American lives and private property.

Biden’s dereliction at the border daily creates ticking time bombs across the United States, facilitated by his taxpayer funded flights of illegals to cities and suburbs nationwide.  The influx of terrorists, violent gang members, petty criminals, and fentanyl and other illicit drugs from his refusal to protect the Southern border is so devastating that it of necessity defines him even now in the minds of most Americans.  He will long be remembered by those who have suffered profound loss due to illegal border entry as that President who neutered CBP and facilitated the largest entry of illegals and illegal drugs into the United States.  His support for illegal entry surpasses in spades his sympathy for the victims of that entry, which appears non-existent.  He does not even recognize, let alone assist, those victimized by crime associated with illegal entry.

From CBP encounters at the border, we know that Biden’s lack of border protection has given Mexican cartels de facto control over southern entry into the United States.  The cartels, not U.S. Immigration and Naturalization, determine who and what enters.  Biden’s abdication of that control has so enriched the cartels that they are now well-financed, clandestine governments operating throughout Mexico replete with their own militaries, weapons stockpiles, surveillance, policing forces, networks of domestic and international commerce, and sophisticated smuggling and racketeering operations--with tentacles extending well into the United States. The cartels have an estimated worth of over $500 billion, and likely much more.

Biden’s abdication enables mass quantities of principally Chinese fentanyl to pour into the United States month after month, leaving a trail of dead bodies nationwide; terrorists to enter the United States year after year, making terrorist attacks a seeming inevitability; violent gang members entering daily, causing gruesome carnage in urban areas nationwide; and sex and drug trafficking with little effective interdiction.  Across the nation, these threats to the lives, liberties, and properties of Americans stem directly from Biden’s refusal to secure our Southern border.

The illicit fentanyl distribution is so widespread that fentanyl overdose has become the number one cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45.  The absence of border protection has become so extreme that terrorists and gang members, including the violent MS-13 and 18th Street gangs, are likely present in urban areas across the United States.  Daily Biden builds his legacy of American destruction to the consternation of most Americans whose urgent demands for border protection fall on deaf Administration ears.

To be sure, nothing will stand out more profoundly from Biden’s tenure in office than the dire consequences flowing from his abdication of border protection.  Americans across the nation now experience, and will continue to experience for generations, deaths, injuries, and property loss and damage due to Biden’s refusal to defend America’s borders.

There were over 2 million CBP-migrant encounters in 2021, the highest ever in American history, with 2022 set to smash that record; over ½ million CBP-migrant encounters occurred in just the first quarter of the year.  Consider additional CBP statistics.

Under Biden, in 2021, CBP apprehended 157 individuals on the terrorist watchlist.  In the first half of 2022, CBP apprehended 192 individuals on the terrorist watchlist.  CBP encounters represent a subset of the entire universe of likely illegal entries in this category.  Intelligence associated with the apprehensions reveals likely terrorist got-aways and plans for establishment of terrorist cells within the United States.

Under Biden, in 2021, CBP apprehended 348 gang-affiliated individuals.  In the first half of 2022, CBP apprehended 459 gang-affiliated individuals.  CBP encounters represent a subset of likely illegal entries in this category.  Extremely violent MS-13 and 18th Street gangs, among many others, have been arrested in ever larger numbers in urban areas across the United States.

Under Biden, in 2021, CBP seized 11,200 pounds (5,080 kilograms) of fentanyl.  In the first half of 2022, CBP seized 7,700 pounds (3,493 kilograms) of fentanyl.  CBP drug seizures represent a subset of likely illegal drug entries in this category.  One kilogram of fentanyl has the potential to kill 500,000 people.  DEA reports that the cartels manufacture not only fentanyl-containing street drugs, including marijuana, heroine, and methamphetamines, but also fentanyl-laced counterfeit oxycodone, hydrocodone, Percocet, and Adderall for distribution and sale throughout the United States.  Fentanyl thus appears not only in street versions of marijuana, heroine, and other opioids but also in street versions of counterfeit prescription medications, expanding its lethality. CDC reports 71,238 fentanyl deaths in 2021 up from 57,834 in 2020.  The number of fentanyl-related deaths has sky-rocketed, equaling 18 times the figure in 2013.

Under Biden, in 2021, CBP apprehended 6,567 known criminal illegals entering the United States and 8,979 wanted by state and local law enforcement.  In the first half of 2022 alone, CBP apprehended 10,659 known criminal illegals and 6,557 wanted by state and local law enforcement.  CBP encounters represent a subset of likely illegal entries in this category.  Illegal entries into the United States have left in their wake significant crime and private property damage from trespass, physical injuries and rapes of American citizens, as well as vandalism and thefts, all left unaddressed by the Biden Administration.

Past Biden’s presidency, Americans will long remember the enormous costs the country was forced to endure as a result of his abdication of our border defenses.  He cannot escape blame (for all time to come) for the preventable deaths, injuries, and property losses stemming from his refusal to secure America’s borders.
