Watching Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina during the recent debate, and in fact during each of her television interviews before and after, one can’t help but be impressed with how well she has handled herself in these different venues. And how well she has answered the myriad of questions tossed her way by a news media that doesn’t seem to know how to take her.
An intelligent, articulate, and reasonable Republican woman? One who can state her position on difficult and controversial issues and do so in a way where the reporter walks away if not agreeing with her, then at the least recognizing that her arguments were well presented and reasoned. In baseball parlance Carly Fiorina has been knocking it out of the park!
Considering the fact that Ms. Fiorina has begun to rise in the polls and may indeed present a real threat to Democrats if she is the eventual presidential, or even vice presidential nominee, the Democratic dirt merchants are sure to soon crawl out of their holes in the ground, looking to slime her and distort or twist anything and everything she has ever said, done, written, or thought. And also use things that they’ll just make up.
Certainly no one is perfect and I’m sure there are probably some things that upon reflection Ms. Fiorina might do differently in her past if given that opportunity. We’ve all made mistakes at one time or another.
But the real story is not how well Carly Fiorina is doing so far, why shouldn’t she do well, but more so how poorly the other female in this nomination process is doing. When comparing the two candidates side by side, Republican Carly Fiorina and Democrat Hillary Clinton, if I were a Democrat I’d be ashamed.
I’d be embarrassed of the fact that Hillary Clinton apparently was the best female candidate that my party could come up with to offer voters. And with the likes of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Barbara Boxer, and Nancy Pelosi extolling Hillary’s virtues – I’d call them the Three Stooges, but that would be insulting to Moe, Larry and Curly - that alone speaks volumes about Hillary’s qualities!
Carly Fiorina is answering any question thrown her way from reporters and sitting for interviews while also besting all other Republicans in the first debate, yet Hillary has been hiding behind a moving rope line. Refusing to answer any substantive questions from reporters and dodging them as much as possible.
I guess Hillary’s aversion to the media is because she doesn’t really want to give the voters a chance to get to know her. Since the more they get to know her, the less they like what they see. And as the polls reveal Hillary simply isn’t trusted by the American people.
It seems that at every turn we find that the things Hillary told us one week end up not being the story she tells us the next week. Her use of linguistic gymnastics to distort or cover up what she has done is nearly as accomplished as that of her husband. Both are well versed in the art of deception. To us common folks that means they are good liars.
As Hillary’s poll numbers continue to drop while the number of people who view her as untrustworthy continues to rise, it’s comforting to see a candidate Like Carly Fiorina who exhibits confidence, honesty, and the competence to deal with the huge problems that will be left behind by the most incompetent president to ever occupy the Oval Office, the current occupant Barack Hussein Obama.
It’s still a long way from the Republican primaries and the eventual selection of a nominee for president, but as it stands right now Carly Fiorina has done very well. And apparently without a single pantsuit in her wardrobe. Rather refreshing one might say, all things considered.
