The Distraction Game

When you’re doing something you’re proud of and happy with, you want nothing more than every set of eyes you can find to be focused on you like lasers. When you’re failing, screwing up completely and embarrassed by what you are participating in, you need a distraction, desperately. That’s where the administration of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Ron Klain, and whoever else is really pulling the strings behind the scenes find themselves in, in desperate need of a distraction.

The border is open, the economy is sputtering, the supply chain is in shambles, China is on the rise, the United States is a joke on the world stage, and every single one of these issues, which is just the tip of the problem iceberg, is a direct result of their actions and policies. They did this to us, and they aren’t stopping. Like a demented doctor conducting experiments on unwilling patients, Democrats are not interested in stopping because they could not care less about the health of the patient.

It’s better for Democrats if the patient dies – it’s easier to replace something you find “fundamentally” objectionable than it is to remake it. You can’t change something that is fundamentally flawed, lest people realize you were lying about those flaws to gain power yourself. Plus, Democrats want to impose things on this country that this country was explicitly created to oppose. You can’t tweak liberty into totalitarianism, you can only construct it on its ashes.

But an informed population, fully aware of what these people are up to, won’t sit idly by as they destroy the greatest good the world has ever known. They need those distractions.

Climate change is a big one – we’re all going to die, we must change what we do! Another is “racial justice” – the idea that society is made up exclusively of victims and perps, and only Democrats can protect the former from the latter. Also “economic justice” – the idea that what you earn is somehow dependent upon what someone else ears, that people are poor because someone else is rich (this one is so stupid it’s embarrassing as a nation that it works on anyone).

But not all distractions are big, every brick in a wall fortifies it.

The White House this week released a “National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality.” What is that? The report starts, “President Biden and Vice President Harris believe that advancing gender equity and equality is fundamental to every individual’s economic security, safety, health, and ability to exercise their most basic rights.”

Those “most basic rights” seem limited to “free” child care and abortions paid for by other people’s money.

The whole thing is wildly stupid, reading like a college thesis worthy of a D grade only because the assignment was completed. “Health care is a right—not a privilege.  All people deserve access to high-quality, affordable health care, regardless of their zip code, income, ethnicity, race, or any other factor,” the report reads.

My favorite paragraph, in a sea of truly awful, hilariously written paragraphs, has to be, “The strategy also adopts an intersectional approach that considers the barriers and challenges faced by those who experience intersecting and compounding forms of discrimination and bias related to gender, race, and other factors, including sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, and socioeconomic status.  This includes addressing discrimination and bias faced by Black, Latino, and Indigenous and Native American people, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, and other people of color.”

The world the left has constructed, the house of cards on which their lust for absolute power sits, is built on the idea that everyone is a victim, but some people are more victim-y than others. It’s the reverse Animal Farm.

The liberal world view is reminiscent of the old Soviet bread lines, only they aren’t handing out food, they’re handing out victim points. They have created a hierarchy of victimhood.

It’s always existed on the left – black on black murder (which makes up the vast majority of murders in the country) is ignored, as is black on white murder, but white cop on black murder, which happens less often than the body count for a normal weekend in Chicago, is treated as a regular occurrence.

Tragedy only exists insofar as it can help Democrats. Remember that school shooting in Texas a couple of weeks ago? Democrats were excited at the time that might’ve been a white kid who did it. When it wasn’t, when it was a black kid who was out on bail the day after shooting 4 people, including his teacher, the story disappeared. They didn’t even try to use it to push gun control – the perp was the wrong color, the narrative could not be advanced, so it was like it didn’t even happen.

Be ready, Democrats are in serious need of a great many distractions; nothing they are doing is something they want a lot of light shining on. That should tell you everything you need to know about the left’s agenda, shouldn’t it?
