Our self-described most transparent administration in history is at it again.
The folks who claim executive privilege over documents in the Fast and Furious case yet maintain the president wasn’t involved have decided transparency is overrated. The people who meet with lobbyists in coffee shops near the White House to keep unseemly names off the official visitor logs, have decided we don’t need to know who pays for their convention.
The Washington Post reports, “In its marketing materials, the party promises that the “people’s convention,”…will be the “most open and accessible ever.” But the names of donors, some of whom are giving up to $100,000, will remain secret until federal disclosure documents are filed Oct. 15, six weeks after the festivities have ended, when public attention will have shifted to Election Day.”
The party that wants to require outside groups to disclose their donors through the DISCLOSE Act won’t disclose who is cutting checks for its convention until long after people have forgotten it. It makes you wonder who is cutting those checks and why they don’t want the base to know.
My guess is simple: They’re getting the money from the same “big corporations” and millionaires and billionaires they’ve been demonizing the past four years. Democrats hate the rich…except the ones who give them money. Weird how that works out, isn’t it?
But the hypocrisy doesn’t end there. In what has to be the funniest non-Joe Biden-related gaffe so far this campaign, President Obama’s big acceptance speech is set to be delivered at Bank of America Stadium. Since he, his fellow Democrats and their Occupy Wall Street allies have spent his first term attacking “big banks” as the root of all evil in this country, they’ve taken to calling it “Panther Stadium” in all correspondences, planning messages and press releases because the Carolina Panthers play there.

Residents of Charlotte must wonder what “Panther Stadium” is and why the major bank headquartered in that city – the one that paid for naming rights of the stadium – is banka non grata. But Democrats don’t want to talk about it.
They also don’t want to talk about the fact their bank, where they deposit their hundreds of millions of dollars, is Bank of America. They’re pledging to move their accounts to the union-owned Amalgamated Bank, but not until after the election. It’s the Wimpy distraction defense – “I’ll gladly bank with you Tuesday for your campaign contributions, volunteers and votes today.”
Good luck with that.
Given its track record of saying one thing and doing another, don’t be surprised if the DNC simply asks Bank of America to print special checks with Bank of Panther Stadium on them and call it a day.

A couple of quick notes:
Liberals and the media (but I repeat myself) are all in a tizzy this weekend because Mitt Romney made a birth certificate joke. The Obama campaign was outraged – it seems only President Obama is allowed to make jokes about his birth certificate…or fundraise off of it.
But if someone with an R after his name makes a crack about it, it’s just this side of joining the Klan. Apparently, Democrats can call Romney a tax cheat and a murderer, but a joke about something everyone knows is crazy is a bridge too far.
The hypocrisy is mindboggling. Before Friday, liberals portrayed Romney as an unfunny robot. Then, he makes a joke they don’t like and he immediately becomes Robert Byrd (D-WV) … only a Republican version without the KKK background.
They want it both ways. But too many people see what they are. As I’ve said before, the media calls itself “The Fourth Estate” – watchdogs who keep an eye on the powerful. The way this was reported makes it obvious “The Fourth Estate” has become a Fifth Column.
If the media were any more in bed with Democrats, their wives would be jealous. Only, with these guys, we’re all on the receiving end.
Along those lines, two new movies are gaining traction and circumventing the mainstream media to reach the people. The media hates that, which makes it doubly awesome.
The first is “2016 Obama’s America.” Dinesh D’Souza, formerly of National Review, takes a look where the media won’t – into the president’s formative years. I saw it a few weeks ago, and it is awesome. You will learn more about the man the media has set out to protect than you ever knew before.
David Limbaugh’s book, The Great Destroyer, chronicles the president’s actions in office, but D’Souza’s movie and companion book are a look at the man and where his beliefs come from. There are a lot of books out now about the president, but these are the only two you need to arm yourself with the knowledge the media is trying to hide from you. Find a theater near you and go see it. Bring anyone you know who is still on the fence about this election.
The second movie is “The Hope & The Change” from Citizens United and director Stephen K. Bannon. It’s a look at several dozen former Obama voters, mostly registered Democrats, who are suffering the hangover of 2008. They bought the hype. They believed the hope. And now reality has set in.
Watch the journey these people take from the first days of Obama’s rise on the national stage to the harsh reality of the failure of his policies. It’s a compelling look at people who really thought Barack Obama would make things better and now realize just how empty that promise was. It’s not out yet, but you will be able to see it soon. Check the website often (an announcement about how you can see it should be coming this week) and watch the trailer. It’s well worth your time.
That is all, go about your week.
