Joe Biden’s Hitler Problem

Last week, a story appeared in Politico’s West Wing Playbook about how Joe Biden’s inner team have taken to calling President Donald J. Trump—a president with a singularly outstanding record in protecting Israel and the Jewish people—“Hitler pig.”

To call this disconnected would be kind. To call this ahistorical would be an understatement. I am as disgusted as it appears these staffers are entertained. But unfortunately, it’s no joke. Under Joe Biden’s watch, there has been a complete dereliction of duty when it comes to protecting, or even condemning attacks against, the Jewish people. This comes in stark contrast to the accomplishments of the very man Biden’s team seeks to destroy.

President Trump’s record speaks for itself. Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States recognized Jerusalem as the true capital of Israel, and moved the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He also recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, ending the discussion that this strategic high ground one day might be involuntarily transferred to the Syrian butcher, Bashar Assad. President Trump also removed the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council due to the group’s blatant anti-Israel bias, and from UNRWA, the UN agency whose primary mission, it appears, is to provide aid and comfort—if not soldiers—to Hamas. President Trump brokered four Middle East peace deals, collectively called the Abraham Accords, between Israel and Arab-Muslim nations in four months.

Perhaps most importantly, President Trump projected America’s strength and its values across the globe – to Moscow, Beijing, Pyong Yang and Teheran. We had no new wars while he served in the Oval Office. As 2020 came to a close, Iran indeed was bankrupt from US sanctions and its terror operations had stalled.

This latest ugly invective by Biden staffers against Trump appears to be yet another effort to deflect, conceal and deny the apocalyptic presidency that is Joe Biden’s. I’m not sure what’s more troubling right now—the casual way staffers in this administration appear to fling about antisemitism, or the fact that everything appears to be a joke to them—including their Iran policy. Take, for instance, the revelations of Politico’s Nahal Toosi, in her aptly titled column, “Has Biden Considered Having an Iran Strategy?” To quote: “When I asked [a] US official what Biden’s Iran strategy is, I was immediately met with laughter.”

There is no excuse for Biden’s incoherent, or more likely nonexistent, Iran policy. There is no policy to prevent Iran from going nuclear, to prevent Iran from funding and training terrorists from Yemen to Iraq to Syria to Lebanon to Gaza, or to prevent Iran from adding to its already large stockpile of precision-guided ballistic missiles. Meanwhile, bombs are very literally raining down on Jerusalem.

There also is no policy to assist the Iranian people who literally are desperate for a means to throw off the yolk of this evil regime.

Unfortunately, this is to be expected from the personnel who infect the Biden Administration. When ultra-leftist, anti-Zionist bureaucrats are left to run amok, both at the State Department and the White House, what else would you expect? All the while, Joe Biden’s administration seems content with virulent antisemites seeping into the woodwork of our foreign policy.

These staffers, in overseeing the appeasement and enrichment of Iran, have advanced a practice that can directly be tied to the slaughter, rape and kidnapping of more that 1400 innocent Jews. And they have the audacity to compare Donald Trump to Hitler?

I know President Trump would have fired these staffers on the spot, all the while overseeing a foreign policy based on peace through strength. President Trump also would not have tried to micromanage Israel’s defense against Hamas after the October 7 massacre. He would have trusted our critical friend and ally to protect its citizens as it deemed necessary. And that undoubtedly would have created the best chance for Israel to emerge victorious with the hostages brought home (and we still pray for that outcome notwithstanding Biden’s mistakes).

To those in the Biden Administration referring to Trump as Hitler, end this disgusting insult immediately. You not only are making light of those who suffered unspeakable cruelty in the past, but also those who continue to suffer in captivity in the tunnels of Gaza, on the battlefields against Hamas and Hezbollah, and in their homes as they shelter from missile attacks.

It has been almost 200 days since October 7th. The time for humor is long gone. As is the time for counting votes, indulging rogue staffers and placating those who hate Israel and hate America. Give Israel now the full-throated support it needs to defeat Hamas and Hezbollah, deter Iran, bring its hostages back to their families, restore quiet to its citizens and end its national trauma. And while you are at it, perhaps also a few words condemning the antisemites at home. The world is watching.
