Gilded Reframe – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • Much like the origins of COVID, suddenly it is acceptable to question Biden's border policy.

This Spring, it was with some amazement that the book "Original Sin" came out, and it covered the mental decline of President Biden and the manner in which the story was not covered. Summed up: The book contained all of the details about his sliding mental faculties that the very same press corps, for years, lectured against those of us willing to point out the obvious.

Well, now, The New York Times repeated this format, only this time regarding the Biden border policy. In a lengthy study of the past four years of non-enforcement, the news outlet has the stones to look critically at the decisions made and the negative fallout created:

The warnings came true, and then some. After Mr. Biden became president, migrant encounters at the southern border quickly doubled, then kept rising. New arrivals overwhelmed border stations, then border towns, and eventually major cities like New York and Denver.

That is to say, the press that lashed out at anyone critical of the lax border policy and denied at length that there was a border crisis, today is able to detail these poor decisions in place, leading to the dire effects. Just…wonderful timing, gang…

News Avoidance Syndrome – MINNEAPOLIS STAR-TRIBUNE

  • Fraud costing billions of dollars is not nearly as bad as the president saying mean things!

In the latest example of a news outlet refusing to actually explore the news developing in Minnesota regarding the rampant government program fraud being exposed, one local outlet is again focused on the big story: defending the people who committed the fraud.

As a result, the Star Tribune goes on a lengthy rant about President Trump dispatching ICE agents to the city, but little in the way of covering the welfare scandal. It diminishes the impact of the fraud, saying the amounts are not in the billions, but only around $152 million according to "court records." The problem with that is that congressional investigators, who are credited with exposing this scandal, are citing far greater amounts, and more is being exposed.

But the paper is more concerned with protecting the community where this is circulating from people being mean.

Dos Equis-perts Opinion – ASSOCIATED PRESS

  • Our expert analysis is that your references would be more valid if we knew who they are.

At the AP, there is another reactionary piece to a Trump policy, this time regarding his rollback of auto-emission mandates and suggesting auto makers could be permitted to create smaller-style vehicles, such as those seen in Japan.

Alexa St. John beats back many of Trump's proposals and claims by citing the opinions of those in the know…we think. Throughout her piece, she counters Trump's comments with "experts say" and "some experts note," yet at no point do we actually know who exactly these experts are. There is one link to a Consumer Reports piece on prices of cars over a decade, but otherwise it is an exercise in take-my-word-on-it reporting.

Then there is the insistence that these experts "disagree" with his claim that fuel standards raise costs, and yet she writes, "It's true that gas mileage standards have played a role in rising vehicle prices."

Race to the Bottom – AXIOS

  • Man, those racists on the Right will not stop racist-isming!

In a completely stunted approach to our society, Axios looks at the growing permissiveness of racism. That is to say, it looks at how racist the people on the Right have been lately. Just those on the Right, no one else needs to be looked at. And, obviously, the blame for this lies with President Trump.

Sure, they have examples, and of course, they are strictly those from the conservative side. But also of note is how interpretational their examples can get.

They begin with Trump calling those behind the welfare fraud scandal "garbage"; the problem being he condemned an entire community, they tell us. Say, Axios? What was your reaction last year when President Biden labeled Republicans "garbage," just out of curiosity?

Other examples given:

Conservatives mobilized around backlash to the 2020 racial justice movement, the Biden administration's immigration policies and perceived censorship of political speech by the left.

We're sorry, but what?! Yet this is the very thing these preening press members ignore. While the Left can hurl "Nazi" and "Fascist" accusations by the gross on a daily basis, "Racist!" is also a perpetual invective delivered. As a result, people who do not say anything approaching a racist remark yet still get called that term no longer care what they say and no longer are concerned with allegedly offending those looking to silence opposition opinions.

So, yes, those "guardrails" Axios cites that are no longer effective are rendered that way as a result of the perpetual bleating heard.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MS NOW

  • Maybe she needs to tune in?

During a round table of voices, hosted by The New York Times, Charlamagne tha God was commenting on news outlets, saying that people understand what they will receive as commentary when they tune in to various networks, including MS NOW.

Then, with amusement, Stephanie Ruhle actually tries to suggest that her network is not predictably leftist.
