It was the first time two Southern Baptist-affiliated teams had played in the bowl, in which NGU's Crusaders had appeared two previous times, winning the 2006 title. It was Campbellsville's first Victory Bowl and first postseason game since 2001.
In front of a home crowd of 4,130 at Younts Stadium, North Greenville freshman running back Idris Anderson helped lead the way with 178 rushing yards and two touchdowns and was named the most valuable player.
Campbellsville actually had more total yards (453 to 360) than North Greenville but suffered two interceptions as well as a second-quarter stop on fourth-and-goal from the North Greenville 2 yard line and a third-quarter blocked field goal.
Campbellsville quarterback Robert Hill was 27 of 54 for 277 yards, one touchdown and both interceptions.
North Greenville finished with 254 yards on the ground and 106 through the air.

North Greenville, 2-8 a year ago, capped with the season with an eight-game win streak and finished 9-3 -- the second best record in NGU history. Campbellsville ended its season at 7-5.
The NCCAA is not a conference but an association of Christian colleges who compete on various levels. Campbellsville's athletics program competes in the NAIA, while North Greenville is an NCAA Division II school.
