Dozens of potential jurors were dismissed after admitting that they would not be able to remain unbiased ahead of former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial in New York City.
Sixty of 96 potential jurors said that they could not be impartial after proceedings began on Monday.
The jurors who claimed to be “unbiased” toward Trump had a different view after being ruled out of the president’s trial.
One potential woman-- who looked like she was an advocate for Black Lives Matter and an unwavering supporter of the LGBTQ community-- shared her anti-Trump opinion of the former president despite insisting that she could have remained objective and unbiased.
“I’m not a fan,” the potential juror told reporters outside the Manhattan courthouse. “During COVID-19, I lived with someone who has immune-compromised and I think his handling of COVID-19 was abysmal.”
It is important to note that the woman was dismissed from serving on the trial because of scheduling conflicts— not because she was clearly biased toward the former president.

“I also have a sister who was adopted from China and the comments he made about China when he was running for president made her very anxious and therefore made me angry,” she continued.
The way the woman stuttered her way through the interview made clear she did not like Trump based on emotion and what the media has told her as she struggled to point to the exact policies that have made her feel this way about the 2024 hopeful.

She is a product of MSNBC. She was very eager to air her grievances about the defendant. None were relative to the case at hand.

That's weird...none of those things she had issue with had anything to do with what the trial is about. She did not (at least in this clip) answer how she could be unbiased.

Another potential juror who was dismissed said that seeing Trump in person was “jarring,” telling MSNBC that it was an “interesting” and “odd” experience. She also told reporters that there was a feeling of nervousness in the courtroom.
