Good News, Jimmy, President Trump Says You're A Nice Guy!

Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump, for all intent and purposes, verbally posterized Jim Acosta and CNN while in England. Posterizing is the act of "dunking" on your opponent so effectively, that the end result should be put on a poster. But, today the commander-in-chief had some kind words for Acosta in a backhanded compliment tweeted earlier this morning.

As Katie noted yesterday, with the world watching, President Trump criticized CNN as "fake news."

During the questioning period with reporters, Acosta shouted at President Trump after he took a dig at the network and asked if he could get a question.

"Mr. President since you attacked CNN can I ask you a question? Since you attacked CNN?" Acosta asked.

"No. No. John Roberts go ahead. CNN is fake news. I don't take questions from CNN," Trump said. "CNN is fake news, I don't take questions from CNN. John Roberts from Fox, lets go to a real network."

The exchange can be watched here:

Today, President Trump chimed in claiming that he checked CNN to see if the network mentioned his remarks towards their star reporter. During whatever coverage he watched today, they did not. This led him to remind the world that CNN was "sooooo wrong in their election coverage" and they are "still hurting" but that Acosta is "actually a nice guy".

Jeff Z. references CNN's president Jeff Zucker. In the network's defense, here is Jim Acosta and CNN actually mentioning being denied (again) the opportunity to ask a question to the President yesterday.
