Billboard Offers to Sell Homes of People Moving to Canada After The Election

A real estate billboard in Illinois is getting quite a bit of attention: it's offering to sell the homes of Americans who are fleeing to Canada following the 2016 election. A picture of the billboard was posted to Reddit and image sharing site Imgur and quickly went viral.

The billboard appears to have been placed by The McDonald Group.

A good number of celebrities have threatened to jump ship to Canada if Donald Trump is elected, and a dating website was even created to match up Canadians with Americans hoping to escape Trump.

Polls have consistently shown that approval ratings for both Trump and Hillary Clinton are extremely low. (Some would even prefer extinction via meteor strike.) Nobody is overly thrilled with either candidate--but at least one company is trying to make bank off of people's dissatisfaction. Well done.

While it's rather unlikely that there will be a mass exodus to Canada following the election, (these threats happen every election cycle, and very few people actually end up moving) it's pretty amusing that someone is trying to stay ahead of the game when it comes to real estate sales.
