Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has caused a lot of trouble for Democrats. Has anything been derailed? No, but she’s become a distraction. House Democrats were hoping to tout their two gun control bills, but they had to deal with another one of Omar’s anti-Semitic remarks that forced the House leadership to vote on a watered-down resolution denouncing anti-Semitism, among other things. It did not rebuke Omar in the resolution. The Minnesota Democrat peddled the dual loyalty smear, which did not sit well with her Jewish colleagues (via NYT):
The fracas erupted over the weekend, after Ms. Omar said that pro-Israel activists were pushing “for allegiance to a foreign country” — a remark that critics in both parties said played into the anti-Semitic trope of “dual loyalty.”
Mr. Deutch and Representative Eliot L. Engel of New York, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, on which Ms. Omar sits, conferred with leadership about how to respond and drafted a resolution condemning anti-Semitism.
Omar finds new ways to shoot inside the ship. She’s also fractured not just the Democratic Party, but also its media allies. Some called what Omar said what it is: anti-Semitism, while others see a grotesque campaign to silence her. Behind closed doors this week, Democrats erupted into an all-out brawl as some felt that the story was taking attention away from the true bigot (in their heads) who occupies the White House. Others, as The Times cited, agreed that the resolution was needed. It took less than four months for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to lose control of her caucus. The thing is this isn’t the first time Omar has peddled anti-Semitism. The latest defense from the speaker’s office is that she’s too stupid to know what anti-Semitism is. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) even went as far as to say that Omar “come from a different culture,” which in liberal land makes peddling anti-Semitism okay. House Whip James Clyburn went further, saying that Omar’s experience is more personal and powerful than those who have relatives that survived the Holocaust. A top Democrat downplayed the Holocaust to defend Omar.

Well, this fiasco just got worse, a former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke called Omar “the most important members” in Congress. Yes, Omar has received the endorsement of a white nationalist most likely due to her hatred of Israel and Jews. That’s the far left. Yet, Ben Shapiro noted something a tad odd after this quasi-Duke endorsement. There was zero media coverage, whereas Trump is besieged whenever these clowns talk about him.
"I'm old enough to remember when David Duke's and Richard Spencer's opinions of Donald Trump and Steve King were important enough for the mainstream media to cover. Odd that they've suddenly lost their Twitter handles when it comes to Ilhan Omar," wrote Shapiro on Twitter last night.
Also, it would appear as if CNN has zero stories about Duke and Omar. Want to guess how many are about Trump and Duke on the site?

Duke and Spencer: Man, we really love the Democrats embracing Omar's anti-Semitism.

This pretty much cancels out the shoddy narrative that Trump is somehow a white nationalist because some cuckoo said a nice thing about him. The same standard does apply. Of course, Omar isn’t a member or supporter of the KKK, but these are their rules, folks. They get away with murder. That’s the benefit of the Democrat-Media complex.
