Frustrated with "conservative" Dems chairing important committees (and gumming up the works on nationalizing health care), Senator Tom Harkin has suggested instituting a secret ballot

on whether or not a senator should remain chairman of a committee.

Of course, Harken seemed slightly less concerned about the secret ballot when he introduced card check (EFCA) legislation, eliminating the secret ballot for workers...
