Here's What Trump Had to Say About Cohen Ahead of His Public Testimony Wednesday

President Trump slammed Michael Cohen early Wednesday morning as a fraud who cannot be believed.

“Michael Cohen was one of many lawyers who represented me (unfortunately). He had other clients also. He was just disbarred by the State Supreme Court for lying & fraud. He did bad things unrelated to Trump. He is lying in order to reduce his prison time. Using Crooked’s lawyer!”

The president’s comments come ahead of Cohen’s public testimony Wednesday. According to a copy of his prepared statement, he will describe Trump as a “racist,” a “cheat,” and a “conman.”

"I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is. He is a racist. He is a conman. He is a cheat. He was a presidential candidate who knew that Roger Stone was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of DNC emails," Cohen says in the prepared remarks, reports The Hill. 

"A lot of people have asked me about whether Mr. Trump knew about the release of the hacked Democratic National Committee emails ahead of time. The answer is yes," he continues.

The White House and RNC are already issuing responses.


“It’s laughable that anyone would take a convicted liar like Cohen at his word, and pathetic to see him given yet another opportunity to spread his lies,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement Tuesday.

The RNC, meanwhile, already has its own strategic communications strategy, including a video called “Have Fun in Prison!”
