Kim Jong Un: McCain Calling me a 'Crazy Fat Kid' Is 'Tantamount to Declaration of War'

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un didn’t find Sen. John McCain’s recent comments calling him a “crazy fat kid” funny. Quite the contrary, the regime said the remark was “tantamount to a declaration of war.”

“As such guys as John McCain and [Sen.] Ted Cruz made a provocation tantamount to declaration of war against the [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea], the DPRK will take steps to counter it,” according to an official DPRK statement, published by the Korean Central News Agency. “They will have to bitterly experience the disastrous consequences to be entailed by their reckless tongue-lashing and then any regret for it will come too late.”

McCain made the remark in a March 22 interview on MSNBC about China helping rein in North Korea’s increasingly aggressive behavior.

“China is the only one that can control Kim Jong Un, this crazy fat kid that’s running North Korea,” he said. “They could stop North Korea’s economy in a week.”

The dig at Cruz was a response to his efforts to label North Korea as a state sponsor of terror.

McCain responded Wednesday, wondering if they wanted him to call the dictator “a crazy skinny kid” instead.

Kim Jong Un, who’s 5’9”, is believed to weigh upwards of 275 pounds.
