Poll: Trump's Favorability Reaches New High

In the weeks after Donald Trump won the presidency his favorability numbers among voters soared. Now that we’re nearing his inauguration, those numbers only continue to climb.

According to a Fox News poll released Wednesday, 47 percent of Americans viewed the Republican positively, which is the highest it’s been in the poll’s 15-month history of tracking his favorability. Though his unfavorable rating is still higher at 51 percent, this is down substantially from previous numbers.

Voters also think his temperament has improved. Forty-four percent of respondents said that Trump now has the temperament to serve effectively as president, which is up 8 percentage points from last month (before the election).

When it came to expectations for Trump’s presidency, voters were more skeptical. Thirty-one percent said he will be one of the country’s worst presidents, while 25 percent said he will be above average. Only 11 percent said they expected him to be one of the greatest presidents in American history.

The survey of 1,034 registered voters was conducted by Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research via cell and landline phones. The margin of error for all questions is 3 percentage points.
